I just received my order for postcards for Salam Perantauan. It features Auckland City, which somehow doesn't make any sense since I'm not in Auckland. When I looked at the postcard, it gave me an idea. Why not, I create one myself? It's not that hard, and you can make it yourselves.
First, what you need to have is of course a computer. You want to draw you own postcard? Sure, go ahead. Then don't read this entry LOL.
Second, your choice of photo. Well, a postcard with blank front isn't going to bring any message right? Might as well choose an A4 paper and cut it out on your own. Well, forget 'bout that. Just choose whichever that you think looks nice.
Third, Adobe Photoshop. Or Coreldraw Graphic. Or even to the simplest Picasa. Why do you need this programs? Silly. It's for editing the photo. There is always a room for improvement using these image editing software.
Fourth, an emblem. You'll need to download vectors from this page. It supplies a lot of 'Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri' emblems, be in Jawi or Rumi. For those who do not have Photoshop or Corel, it's a bit tough for you guys, but you can try to copy the image and download it. Then you'll need to paste it.
Fifth, to add more effect to the photo, you can also add a banner, with the width of it is the same with your photo and the height would take around 1/6 of your photo. Position it on top of the photo or anywhere you think would be nice. Make it a bit transparent by adjusting the opacity to 70%-85%.
Sixth, add your own message on top of the banner! It's the easiest part of everything and you'll find yourselves with a postcard, made on your own! Congratulations!
