Entry 052 - I Am Not Icarus

Dear blog,

Icarus,
Soughing for freedom to grasp,
With the wings of wax,
Crafted to let you fly,
And the sky is yours to conquer.

But yet do not reach near to the Sun,
Not that close,
Because greediness kills,
You father told you so, didn't he?

Fly now Icarus,
Get away from it,
You can't seek what you can't have,
Be glad with what you own,
But you,
Greediness,
It is powerful, isn't it?

But fear from the sea kept you higher,
Because you do not want to be killed,
Isn't it ironic to escape from the cold sea,
But end with vague death by the hot Sun?

Where is such ideal position would you take?
Such glory or such safe measures you would have?
If only Daedalus has created wings that is better,
Maybe one day you shall find something greater,
But it is greediness and fear that tear,
Melting down the wax wing of yours,
Melting down your hope for freedom,
Melting down your father's heart I would say.

Goodbye Icarus,
You showed me that seeking glory comes with a price,
It is either risk of fear,
Or greediness that kill,
Stay down on Earth,
Be humble,
To find an eternal freedom.
