Entry 031 - My Photo Art

This are among photos that I edited with either Photoshop and Picasa. Just want to share with you guys. Maybe it can give you some ideas to start with a new one. I'm still an amateur. Perhaps you might say it's crappy. But it's okay. I know it is. But still, have a look and comment if you would like too.

This is a photo of my girlfriend and me. I use Picasa to separate colours, to give the effect of how important is a world of black/white and colours are.

A black/white photo with emphasis given to the red heart in the right chest.

A mixture of elements in this photo, creates cheerful expression.

Actually, the background should be black. The elements or in Photoshop's term, vector can consist of anything. For this photos, vectors that are mainly used are stars and waves.

It's like the airplane coming from the right side of the photo. It's using a Japanese motive which can be found from their war flags. The headphone and city background symbolize the modernization.

The frame used with black/white photo. Good to isolate from distracting and contrasting colours.

A red dragon with Chinese characters behind it as if it's telling everyone of the history of the dragon's era.

This photo emphasize on me, but with adjustment on shadow to make it darker. The frame used is like the stain found on old mirror.

This photo focus more on the darker side. By increasing the value of shadow, and a bit of applying soft focus on the subject, it creates a mood of reminiscence.

This is what you get when you overexposed the photos to more lights. With bright background, and slight adjustment on the saturation, you can focus more on the subject, giving it a more appealing characteristic.

By using shallow depth of field, you can emphasize on the subject better. It separates the subject with the background, isolating it and giving it more attention from the viewer.

Group photo can be surprisingly fun since you have to deal with people that move and their expressions. By increasing the brightness, the sunny background will disappear, as if the photo were taken with white background. A black/white mode is used to give it a professional look.

Create a pose that everyone can do it. It looks good with group photos. Black/white mode give it a nostalgia effect apart of using sepia mode.

An example of using sepia mode. You create a photo that looks nostalgic. But you can also add film grain to enhance the realistic effect of old photo.

This is a method known as cloning. You take several photos of the same location, by using a tripod so that the photos would not overlapped with each other that creates 'double image'. By using layers and masking, you can patch up several subjects on the same photo.
